Philadelphia Police Department winks at Corporate Litter

Dear President McCombs:

I have great news for your company, ADVO Inc.. A uniformed representative of the Philadelphia Police Department recently visited my home in Philadelphia, and kindly and professionally informed me that the Philadelphia Police Department cannot pursue and will not pursue my sanitation violation complaint filed against ADVO Inc.. It is now my distinct impression that ADVO Inc. can act in complete disregard to sections of the City of Philadelphia Sanitation Related Code of Ordinances: Specifically §10-706 dealing with Litter Thrown From Vehicles and §10-713 dealing with Dumping Trash or Debris on Private Property. It is my impression that your company can, with corporate abandon, can litter every week on my property. I will weekly observe the spectacle of tons of your white plastic bundles of advertisements snowing freely on Philadelphia residential properties without their permission. I will understand in some way you will be making Philadelphians proud of it’s alias Filthadelphia.

I am the Philadelphia resident that has written, emailed, and telephoned your company directly, imploring you to stop littering my private property. I am the Philadelphia citizen who has brought your type of corporate distributions to the attention of just about every politico who is supposed to be representing Philadelphia to no avail. Whether or not your littering behavior is conducive to opportunistic residential crime is now a moot point.

However, forget about everyday home intrusions that ‘may’ result from tale tell litter in Filthadelphia. Does your corporation ever consider that someday, somebody, of some importance will be murdered, in COLD BLOOD, in my murder-murder-murder everywhere city, and that Philadelphia’s winks and passes to corporate littering will be proved a part of the casual chain? Do ya think in such a scenario that de cops and de Filthadelphia polticos still ain’t a goin ta do nuttin about da damn litter?  If you say no...I think you would be right on the money.
